I went for a test strip to gauge the bleach tolerance of my hair and minimize breakage. On the final appointment day, I left with hair that was over-processed, uneven, and damaged. Despite showing a picture of the desired blend, the color's lightness was taken too literally. I sat with foils for over an hour, and my hair, which lifts quickly, turned stringy and started breaking. The stylist remarked, "you knew this would happen," leaving me speechless. What was the purpose of the test strip done months earlier? I've been bleaching my hair for nearly a decade, and this has never occurred before.
