Typically, I've had positive experiences and don't usually leave reviews online. However, this time my nails were a disaster. I had to attend Thanksgiving with uneven nails, one was larger than the rest, and the top coat was already peeling off before I left the salon. Additionally, my hands were covered in remnants of the previous nail color. When I washed my hands at home, the top coat peeled off even more. Starting anew in the Ewing region, after 8 years, I decided to straighten my hair and challenge myself. Recommended by a client I met through a mutual friend, I went to Rhonda Kay for a press and curl. Excited to support this black-owned, woman-owned business, I aimed to document my experience for my Instagram and TikTok followers. Sadly, what was meant to be a positive, content-worthy visit turned out to be the opposite. Despite booking a thick/long press and curl for my hair, the stylist greeted me with an attitude, didn't offer basic courtesies like a towel, and charged me double the amount, citing the time taken for my hair. Disappointed by the poor customer service, I left unsatisfied.
