After a few days, one of my nails broke off following a full set appointment. When I went back to have it fixed, I was still charged for the repair. Additionally, after getting a color change, the polish started chipping off the same day. I returned (this time not charged), but within a week, the polish on my other nails started chipping too. This has never happened to me before, and it's surprising since I don't engage in heavy hand labor. Perhaps a different technician would have provided a better experience.
I visited this place for a full set of dip powder nails, and the person who did them did not properly care for my cuticles or file my nails. I usually do my own dip nails at home, and they always turn out much better than this. I would not recommend getting dip powder here, but their gel manicures are good.
I have been a loyal customer at Tulip for many years. I have seen the owner's child grow up in the nail salon. However, after my experience yesterday, I have decided not to return. I went in for a pedicure and refill, clearly communicating my needs to the staff upon arrival. After the pedicure, the technician led me to the front to wait for someone to do my nails, as usual. While conversing with another staff member in a different language, he abruptly said NO loudly. The technician then informed me that they were closing and no one could do my nails. It was only 4:30, and they don't close until 5. I expressed my frustration, stating that it was unreasonable not to inform me of this earlier, as I would have prioritized my pedicure. This incident, coupled with past instances of feeling discriminated against by the staff member Mike, has led me to the decision to no longer patronize this establishment. If the owner, Tho, had been present that day, this situation would not have occurred.
