Shear Ego is a fantastic salon. The individuals there are incredibly welcoming and kind. Jordan is an exceptional, personable stylist. They collaborated with me to achieve the precise cut I desired and were a delight to converse with.
I cannot praise Shear Ego and Kyle at the reception desk enough! My friends and I visited the spa for my sister's bachelorette celebration. We reserved the Bistro room, which was ideal. It features a small sink, fridge, and a couple of glass tables. It provided the perfect setting for our snacks. The spa atmosphere is exceptional. It's incredibly serene and soothing. Every little detail is taken care of. I must mention that we encountered a scheduling issue on our part... and Kyle went above and beyond to assist me in resolving it. My sister had a flawless day, and we all had a wonderful time!
I was quite bewildered and let down by this experience. Throughout the entire process, from the shampoo to the trim and styling, my hairdresser only spent 23 minutes with me. (Edit: I just realized I had scheduled a 1-hour appointment.) Everything felt excessively hurried even though there were only about 2 other clients in the salon getting their hair done. She didn't even show me the haircut before styling it, so I could decide if I wanted more trimming or not. She quickly curled my hair with a wand in just 5 minutes, and the result is not very pleasing. I had mentioned that I had a wedding later that day, so I was hoping for a more meticulous result - she mentioned "big bouncy waves," which to me suggested a nice blowout, but I left with a head full of tight curls. My part was crooked, and the top of my hair was extremely flat. I wish I had spoken up, but I just felt like she wanted me out of there as soon as possible. I have never felt so rushed during a haircut before. I hope the cut looks decent, but I haven't even seen it without the curls yet. I will not be returning to Shear Ego if this level of service is what they offer for $50 plus tip. That's an hourly rate of nearly $150 for a seriously disappointing experience. I even considered going across the street afterward to see if they could restyle it at Scott Miller, as I have always had a positive experience there.
