I was eager to try a salon that claimed to specialize in natural hair. Booking appointments for both myself and a friend, we assumed we would each have a stylist. However, only one person tended to us. Despite advertising natural hair services, the "silk press" we received was standard. Spending 8 hours in the salon, the stylist was overly eager with the scissors and made negative remarks about natural hair. The service was overpriced for the quality received. Typically, a silk press lasts 2-3 weeks, but we were told ours might not even last a day. Overall, this salon experience was disappointing, and I will not return or recommend it.
5/26/2023 Penny's Salon unexpectedly raised their prices by $15 during my last visit. As a loyal customer, I found this lack of notice disappointing. Moreover, their price list is not displayed. I will be taking my business elsewhere due to these deceptive practices.
Yesterday, I visited the barber shop for a trim. Showing a photo for reference, we both agreed on the style. Strangely, she cut my hair without discussing the length. I've been in tears since; it looks like a child's handiwork. I cannot recommend this salon.
