My inaugural visit a month back. 2 stars for the commendable massage. The receptionist was unsettling and fixated on money. The masseuse also seemed fixated on tips; even before commencing my massage, they both badgered me about tipping. I assured them I would tip, naturally. The final 20 minutes of my massage were marred by an abrupt request for a tip and a debate on what amount would be deemed fair. I settled on 15% - 20%, and they proceeded to shame me for it haha. They also claimed they only wasted 5 minutes of my time, but I had my own timer running. If I do decide to return, I will not be tipping them.
I recently explored this spa for the first time. Booking a massage was a seamless process. They have their prices displayed as you enter, which is convenient. I had inquired about the fees prior to my appointment, so I was aware upfront. Indeed, the quoted price aligned with their posted rates. The massage was truly calming as the therapist was skilled in gauging my preferred intensity level (gentle, moderate, firm). While the massages earn a 4/4.5-star rating, regrettably, the level of professionalism would only receive a 2/2.5-star rating. As is customary with most establishments, including spas, it is understood that tipping is at the client's discretion in addition to the service charges. I always tip conscientiously, understanding the significance of tips from personal experience. However, the way I was pressured regarding the tip I provided was distasteful, unprofessional, and utterly inappropriate. If a specific percentage is expected as a tip, that should be communicated upfront or factored into their pricing. Due to this negative encounter, I will not be patronizing this establishment again. A business that puts its patrons in uncomfortable positions does not merit my continued support.
I have passed this spot countless times and always pondered about venturing in. Finally, last evening, I made the leap, and I am thrilled I did haha. I've indulged in 3 "pro massages" before, and this establishment surpasses them all. Andrea was superb! She was witty, adept at tending to my troublesome spots, and the finest masseuse I've encountered. The rates are transparent. The ambiance is welcoming from the moment you step inside. Thank you, Andrea 😊 I shall return.
