My initial experience at Nail Expo left much to be desired. Only a week after getting a gel manicure, multiple nails are already lifting. The use of pure acetone in a bowl was overwhelming, with the fumes so strong that a washcloth had to be placed over it. My fingertips went numb, and I am concerned that I may have altered fingerprints. During the process of removing the gel manicure, the owner engaged in conversation with me. However, upon learning that I am 24 weeks pregnant, her response was inappropriate. She remarked that upon seeing me, she thought I was just overweight. Despite her attempt to backtrack, the comment was unacceptable.
