My hair looked fabulous after the blowout and trim. However, three weeks later, despite washing my hair thrice, it still retains a burnt or product-like smell. I cannot seem to eliminate it. While my hair has reverted to its curly state without heat damage, the lingering odor is concerning. Other than that, I have no complaints about the service.
Absolutely dreadful, appalling, and just plain awful. I cannot find a more fitting word to depict the service at this establishment. I have been a loyal patron and have been recommending this place to all my family and friends since my middle school days.. I am now in college. During my recent visit for a wash, blow dry, and trim to maintain the health of my hair and minimize heat damage, I encountered numerous issues. To begin with, the stylist kept pushing unnecessary treatments on me to inflate the bill. As they only spoke Spanish, I struggled to communicate my desires clearly. Despite my explicit instructions to avoid extra treatments, she proceeded with minimal water and attempted to detangle my thick 4b hair using a rat tail comb, causing pain and hair loss. Ignoring my discomfort, she washed my hair without proper detangling, leading to more knots. The application of conditioner and further detangling with the rat tail comb only worsened the situation. After rinsing, she took me for a roller set, persisting with the thin comb. When I requested a wide-tooth comb, she initially did not understand until I showed a picture. Even then, she continued with the thin comb surreptitiously. My roots remained tangled, and a significant amount of hair was pulled out. Requesting a different stylist, the manager eventually intervened, revealing she spoke English despite the initial denial. Left under the dryer for an unusually long time, I finally sought the manager's assistance. However, she repeatedly subjected my hair to excessive heat with the blow dryer, resulting in uneven length and unwanted layers. Displeased with the outcome, I will not return, and I caution others, especially non-English speakers and individuals with Black hair, to avoid this place due to potential mistreatment and extra charges based on hair thickness. For those seeking professional and fair service to maintain hair health, this establishment is certainly not the right choice!
This establishment merits a rating of zero!!!! My mother brought my daughters here for a wash, blow dry, and flat iron service. Initially, everything seemed fine, but a few weeks later, when I attended to their hair, I noticed a foul odor reminiscent of relaxers or lye. Their curls were damaged, and there were straight sections that puzzled me. Upon researching, I discovered that some Dominican salons incorporate lye in their conditioners to manage difficult hair textures, leading to chemical damage. I was shocked and furious 😡 to learn this. My daughters, who had natural hair, now suffer from damage due to chemical treatment. They will never set foot in a salon again. This place's negligence and lack of professionalism are inexcusable.
