I stopped visiting this place a few months back due to the manicurist filing my gel nails so thin that it was painful to use my hands for days. It took 6 months for my nails to grow back healthy. I've been going elsewhere since then, but decided to give Nations another try last week because of its convenient location. When I walked in, I was greeted with a curt "what color do you want?" The manicurist was busy giving a pedicure to another client. I approached her and explained my previous experience, requesting that my gel be soaked off instead of ground. She seemed annoyed by my request, saying she needed to use a dremel just to remove the top coat shine. When it was my turn, she lightly ground my nails, wrapped and soaked them in foil while doing the pedicure. She didn't introduce herself or engage in any conversation, so I don't know her name, but her chair was the first one by the phone and register. She seemed very annoyed to be working on my nails. After the pedicure, she motioned for me to move to her chair and started grinding away. When I pulled my hand back to check, she said, "it's okay, I have to do this. Don't worry." All my nail beds were filed paper-thin again, and less than 4 days later, the gel started chipping (see photos). It will take months to grow healthy nails again, and I caution others to stay away from this place. Rude, expensive, disregarded my request, ruined my nails, chipping after 4 days! I'm not sure if all the staff is this bad, but I will NEVER go back to find out!
My stylist was Lucky. He was friendly, and my nails looked great. However, he told me the gel would last 2-3 weeks. It barely lasted 5 days before it started peeling off, leaving my nails looking terrible. On the 6th day, I went back to the salon. Lucky wasn't there, so I spoke to his wife. She was incredibly rude and blamed me, listing several reasons. When I explained that wasn't the case, she turned and discussed my nails with her client as if I wasn't there. I stood up for myself politely and chose to leave without causing a scene. Due to her rudeness and lack of effort to make things right, I will never return and cannot recommend this salon to anyone.
This was the ABSOLUTE worst full set of nails I've ever had, and I've had many. I wasn't near my usual spot and decided to try this place. The lady was on the phone the entire time, a full 45 minutes. I'm fine with that if you can still do your job. I'm not even that picky, but this was just careless. She really needs to slow down and take care of the people who pay her salary. She also needs some more training. That's why I'll stick to Dang Nails in Marietta. They actually care.
