Decided to check out a nail salon closer to my place. Opted for a gel manicure and I'm not sure what I ended up with. All their light-colored polishes are so sheer as if they dilute them with something. I changed my color thrice and still ended up with a translucent finish after applying three coats. Unless you prefer dark colors, I would not recommend this place. Also, if you expect well-shaped nails, this might not be the place for you. My nails were significantly longer than I wanted, and they were filed down too short and uneven. Additionally, their gel manicure does not include a warm towel or lotion, which is something I have never encountered before. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the service to my nail tech. I paid $30, and my nails look like they have pink marker on them, something I could have done myself. I will not be returning here.
Crystal Star Nails is my favorite nail salon. Alex, my go-to nail tech there, is absolutely amazing at what they do and always manages to impress me. The customer service is exceptional, and the salon has a clean and inviting atmosphere. I had stopped getting my nails done for a while because I was never satisfied with the shape and final look, but after seeing how consistently beautiful my friend's nails were, I decided to give Alex a try, and they did not disappoint! This is now my third appointment, and my nails have never been healthier and stronger. I highly recommend this salon.
