I encountered Sarah on Sunday morning. This marks my initial massage as an adult. I went in for shoulders and neck, and she addressed those excellently.
My spouse wished to reserve a massage and facial at Hand & Stone as a Mother’s Day present, but I urged for supporting a local business and proposed Trees Bodyworks. I had a massage and facial set for the Friday before Memorial Day at 10am and even took the day off from work to have a Me day. I got a call at 8:50am from Natalie (not my therapist) an hour before my appointment, that my massage therapist had a family emergency and needed to reschedule me. Completely understandable, I understand, things happen unexpectedly, so I rescheduled it for Monday at 11am. She even kindly offered to comp my facial for the inconvenience. I called twice an hour earlier to confirm my appointment was still on and no one answered. I noticed that their hours online indicated they were closed until noon which then concerned me that there wasn’t an appointment. I arrived at 10:45, the doors were locked, but fortunately, a therapist opened the door and she inquired if I was Kelly, to which I replied no. And she mentioned she didn’t see my name on the schedule for today. She asked who I was scheduled with, and I mentioned Sarah, and she asked me if they didn’t call me. I said they called me on Friday to reschedule for today at 11am. After she probed for more details, it appears that Natalie didn’t move my appointment, my appointment was canceled, and I had no appointment. The therapist who opened the door for me today, she mentioned Sarah had to undergo surgery, which I understand, but a phone call or a reschedule would’ve been appreciated. This was the second unsuccessful attempt on Trees Bodyworks' part and all I desired was to support a small local business instead of a big chain for my me day. I’m extremely let down. There wasn’t any accommodation provided on this second failed attempt, no reschedule was proposed, absolutely nothing. I DISLIKE giving small businesses a low rating or negative review, but I genuinely believe this experience warranted one. Their communication really requires some improvement.
