I have been a devoted patron of yumi for 6 years now, their location is quite a distance from me since relocating from flushing... but I make the journey because I admire their craftsmanship. Their lash services are reasonably priced and efficient. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment. Additionally, they recently unveiled their spa, and I am eager to explore the new offerings :)
Yumi is truly a gem in the community! I have visited this place 3 times now, and each time, I am impressed by their professionalism. The lashes always turn out beautifully, and the prices are very reasonable for the durability (approximately 3-week retention, I opt for cat eye double line size 13)
My sibling and I have been frequenting this place since around 2018 or 2019. Due to the pandemic, our visits decreased. If my memory serves me right, our last visit was in 2022. We ceased getting our lashes done. It was my birthday last Sunday, and we had a trip planned, so it was a choice between yumi and sumi (whom we visited before yumi). Ultimately, we opted for YUMI! I must mention that we always had a wonderful experience. No pressure for tips or anything. The only thing that used to bother me was parking, but the attendant was always there to assist. However, during this recent visit!!!! Let me just say, I disliked a few moments of it. We had an appointment for 9 am or 9:30, arrived early, but it seemed they were already open, so we waited in the car. Anyway, parking was fine. Once my lashes were done, I informed the attendant that I would be paying for my sister. She then asked, "Will you be tipping with cash or card." Haha, excuse me?! I detest that. I always tip, and if I tip with a card, I know to mention it. I informed her that my sister would tip. When my sister finished, she asked me who to tip. My sister informed me that they were pressuring her to tip them!!! Now, I am annoyed because frankly, tipping is not MANDATORY. It is a gesture of goodwill. Instruct your staff to stop this behavior. Moreover, my sister understands a bit of Korean, and she mentioned that the person doing her lashes was speaking about her. Let me also mention, we both got volume lashes, the $150 option. There was nothing voluminous about our lashes. Perhaps they changed their lash supplier, but I say all this to convey that we will not be returning. And they have been calling me Tina for years lol I have no idea where they got that, but I let it go.
