My inaugural visit. Window signage shabby, gave pause. Upon entry, Kate, the owner, stood alone in the empty shop. I greeted her, though it should have been the reverse. As she commenced work on my nails - a simple no-chip French manicure - she incessantly prattled on about herself, her daughters, and the myriad nail locations she had worked at in Barrington. I began to ponder why she never lasted long at any place. Eventually, I had to interject to point out that my cuticles needed trimming. She insisted I had no cuticles, which I found utterly absurd! After asserting that I did indeed have cuticles, she continued to argue. I finally had to assert, "Please cease arguing with me, I am the customer!" The nail job she did was subpar, and when I settled the bill, I requested a receipt. Shockingly, she informed me that she does not provide receipts! Oh my, where is Uncle Sam when you need him? IRS, take heed! I persisted in receiving a receipt for my payment, and she reluctantly took my email. After multiple attempts, it eventually arrived in my inbox. However, the account from which the payment was received bore an unfamiliar company name! Beware, this woman lacks integrity and trustworthiness; she is too preoccupied with talking about herself!
Christie did an excellent job on my nails. I had a torn nail below the cuticle and returned to Kate's to address it. Kate handled it with great kindness and did not charge me for the service. How uncommon is that? A fantastic establishment. It will be my preferred spot whenever I am in Marquette.
