Today, on August 9, 2024, was my first visit, and it was fantastic! I got a manicure with gel polish and a deluxe pedicure with gel polish. The pedicure was incredibly relaxing; it included numerous pampering steps like cleaning, exfoliation, hot towels, lotion, a stone massage on my legs, and a hand massage on my feet. The technician was very gentle while using all the tools for the manicure and pedicure. The pedicure chairs even offered back massage options. I will definitely be a repeat customer.
I had high hopes for this spot. On my initial visit, my nails turned out wonderfully. I was thrilled to find a local place near my abode, sparing me the drive to Auburn for lovely nails. This past weekend, with a baby shower I'm hosting, I decided to get my nails done. I pointed out that one of my thumbs was lifting. I assumed she would remove it and I would pay the $5 for a replacement. However, that's not what occurred. Instead, she left it as is and filled in the lifted area with acrylic. I thought, maybe she's trying a new technique, I'm not the nail tech. But that wasn't the worst part. She used a drill to file down my real nail beneath the acrylic. By this point, my nail was burning. I didn't say anything out of discomfort, thinking it might have been accidental. But when I got to my car and realized she tried to file it down entirely so the nail wouldn't detach from the acrylic, I was shocked. Now my real nail on the right side is completely gone, and there's a gap between my skin and the real nail. It feels like she inserted the drill between my nail and skin. At least, that's how it appears and feels. I'm just bewildered. My thumb has been throbbing all day. I usually wouldn't nitpick about spots she missed painting on the sides, but I don't understand why I didn't receive the same quality of service as my first visit. I'm just disheartened and so let down. Not to mention, now that I've done some research, the space between my nail and the acrylic could trap water and debris, potentially leading to a nail fungus that I won't notice unless I completely remove the acrylic. Ugh! I'm just upset.
I truly adore having my nails beautifully done at a nail event! I've been to various places from Augusta to Portland, and they truly excel. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming! Plus, they give the most fantastic pedicures.
