Glamorous Touch

My sisters and I have always loved and trusted this salon for our haircuts and even recommended it to our mom. Today, my mom and I went in for a spontaneous haircut. She was apprehensive about getting the cut she desired. I reassured her that this salon would deliver. Little did I know, a new stylist would prove me wrong. Due to a language barrier, as she didn't speak English and I didn't speak Spanish, there was a significant lack of communication. She couldn't understand how we wanted our hair cut or ask for any specifics. There were no mirrors provided, and we weren't shown the back of our hair during the process. Not only did we not get the desired haircut, but it wasn't even done properly. The stylist had to seek help from Erica to shape the hair around my face. Upon returning home, my mom noticed uneven strands at the back of my hair, which I tried to conceal by curling it. To top it off, we were charged $25 each for subpar haircuts after being quoted $18-$20 over the phone. This was a disappointing experience, especially after recommending the salon to my mom with confidence. If we decide to give it another chance, we will definitely book appointments with Olga or Erica.

I had an appointment scheduled over a month in advance because my regular hairstylist is expecting a baby. I specifically asked for a touch-up on the top of my head since I have very short hair, a pixie cut. I arrived promptly at 10:00, but she was running late. I tried calling her with no response, so I left a message saying I was on my way. When I arrived, she had double-booked herself with another client at 10:00 and seemed disorganized. Another stylist there was kind, but the issue was not what she said, but how she said it. She then quoted me $145 instead of the $75/$80 we initially discussed because of some grey roots. I left and informed her that I would leave a negative review as she shouldn't have changed the price on me. She mentioned she has been working there for 15 years, but I have been in the service industry for over 25 years! Her name was Olga, and she was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I went down the street to Valley Hair Salon, where they were amazing and honored the initial price I was quoted.

I have always been happy with the haircuts done by two of the hairstylists at this salon. However, when I walked in today, I regretted not making an appointment with Erica or Olga. The stylist assigned to me was about to let me leave with an uneven and choppy haircut. Instead of showing me the back with a mirror, she attempted to style it to hide the flaws. Olga had to step in to correct the mistakes, but I noticed at home that it was still not right. I am now stuck with awkward-looking bangs for a while. I doubt I will return to that salon.
