The array of flowers and varying heights in the flower beds is a novelty at Biltmore. We encountered a guest who mentioned being an annual passholder since 1976. She visits once a month and claims that Biltmore has never showcased such a diverse range of perennials before. Additionally, the upper beds are brimming with blooming sunflowers, and the hill of snow is in full bloom.
A stunning garden just a stroll away from the Main house The Biltmore estate is a must-see attraction in Asheville, NC. The estate boasts a grand mansion, a winery, stables, and a picturesque drive. Each of these is a gem on its own. Visitors can drive and park in designated lots for each part of the estate. The house has at least two lots, just a 5-minute walk or a short bus ride to the entrance. The gardens lie to the south of the building, accessible via a set of stairs. Exercise caution as you make your way into the gardens, as one of the main roads from the parking lots intersects the walking path at the top of the gardens. Within the walled garden, you'll find various sections showcasing different flowers and plants arranged in intricate patterns within the expansive rectangular garden. Towards the southern end of the garden, there are greenhouse-like structures showcasing a variety of plants and displays made from organic materials. The highlight of the gardens is a rotating display of blooms, featuring 75,000 tulips, vibrant summer annuals, and autumn mums. A lengthy arbor covered with grapevines runs through the center, leading to themed areas such as a butterfly garden, white border, scented border, and Victorian border.
