I encountered difficulty booking the service my gift card covered, necessitating a phone call. After enduring 3 hold periods, a staff member finally scheduled the appointment for me. I received multiple email and text reminders, which I appreciated. Upon arrival, I did not have to wait long, a pleasant surprise. The massage therapist displayed impressive technical skills. However, she failed to introduce herself, leaving me unsure of whom to address on the tip envelope or Venmo. The major issue was that I did not receive the service I had booked. Expecting a hot stone massage, I noticed a crockpot of stones but the therapist never utilized them, abruptly ending the massage. When I inquired, I was informed that I should have specified my preference at the beginning. In conclusion, I did not receive the confirmed service, and the therapist could benefit from additional customer service training. This visit was likely my first and last to this establishment. I now possess a credit/gift card that may never be utilized. A refund for the unfulfilled portion of the upgrade would have been appreciated.
Having had numerous massages over the years, my experience at Bryn Mawr was by far the worst. The masseuse, Rachel, immediately disclosed her fatigue and lack of sleep, setting a negative tone. A mere minute into the massage, I needed to scratch an itch on my backside. After doing so discreetly, Rachel abruptly terminated the session, citing my action as inappropriate. In all my previous experiences, I have never encountered such an accusation or premature end to a massage. It was evident that Rachel was disinterested, likely due to fatigue or perhaps other reasons. I hope the management will provide compensation for the incomplete session. I will not be returning to Bryn Mawr.
My massage experience fell short of expectations, resembling more of a light back rub than a tension-relieving session despite my request for firmer pressure.
