I recently visited the Gene Juarez Alderwood Salon for the first time and had an exceptional experience. Avery attentively listened to my preferences, took the time to show me visual references of her suggestions, and ultimately delivered the most outstanding foil highlights I have had in a long while. It has been over a week now, and I am still overjoyed with the end result. Many thanks!!!
UPDATE:
June 12th, I had my final correction appointment with Jamie, the most talented colorist around!!!! She completely transformed my hair, the color is absolutely stunning now. Jamie was incredibly patient and understanding of my vision, she put in a lot of effort and attention to detail which resulted in an amazing outcome. No more traces of the previous yellow tones or color bleeding. I am definitely looking forward to returning to her!
April 18th: The Salon reached out to me and arranged for a re-do appointment with a senior color specialist (great choice) to address the issues with my hair. They also offered me some treatments to improve the condition of my hair before the next appointment. (I must acknowledge their exceptional and considerate customer service).
This was my second visit to the salon, the first time was back in September 2023 for a full foil, and my most recent visit was on April 5, 2024 (just a day before my birthday) for a partial balayage. Unfortunately, the color outcome was not what I had hoped for, as it turned into a mix of orange, yellow, blonde, and brown due to color bleeding. Since it was a late appointment, only the specialist who performed the incorrect process was present. I requested to speak with the manager and another professional to discuss how to rectify the situation and achieve the desired result. On my birthday, I returned to the Alderwood mall, where the manager (a truly lovely individual) acknowledged the mistake, connected me with a specialist to assess my hair, provided instructions on the necessary steps to fix it, and scheduled a redo appointment for April 7. During my third visit, the service was carried out, however, the final result did not align with my initial request or expectations. The unwanted yellow/gold tones persisted (although I had requested silver) and the dark color intended to cover the bleeding hues ended up resembling a light chocolate shade, which did not match my natural dark brown hair. While I appreciate the outstanding customer service and their willingness to assist, there seems to be a lack of transparency in communicating whether achieving the desired color or style is feasible, especially considering the extensive chemical processes involved, given the dry and fragile state of my hair, not to mention the significant hair loss experienced during the bleaching process.
The first image depicts the desired outcome; the second image shows my hair after the initial process. At this point, I am uncertain about the next steps to take, as I am hesitant to undergo further chemical treatments. It appears that my hair is in need of repair. Are there alternative solutions available?
I entered the Gene Juarez salon after enduring a series of challenging, transformative, and tumultuous weeks; undeniably the most difficult period of my life thus far. Hoping to uplift my spirits, I decided to treat myself to a simple haircut, considering it was long overdue. After a brief wait, I was attended to promptly, exactly as promised. I was paired with Taylor M., who turned out to be the most understanding, compassionate, and compassionate individual. Despite not typically sharing personal details with hairstylists, by the end of the haircut, I found myself confiding in her about things I had yet to disclose even to my closest confidants. Additionally, she offered invaluable wisdom and advice that I truly needed. And of course, the haircut itself was flawless; undoubtedly the best I have received. Thank you, Taylor :)
